Disability support
Start with your choices: support in your own home, residential or community routes.
Discuss choice, control and access
Begin with how and where the person wants to live. Support in a person’s own home, community resources and residential settings are distinct paths. APD describes supported living as support in an adult’s own home or apartment; eligibility and access questions belong with the relevant program.
Questions to take with you
- Who decides when and how support is provided?
- How can communication preferences and physical access requirements be met?
- Does the service cover the person’s address?
- Which program can explain assessment, eligibility and the next step?
