Who this may help: Adults with disabilities who want support preparing for, finding or keeping work.
Official information checked Nov 1, 2026. Program staff decide eligibility and access; this guide does not assess care needs.
Start with the person’s work goals
Discuss the work the person wants, their strengths, communication preferences, transport and the help they would like. Supported employment and job coaching concern work-related support; an adult day training listing does not establish that those services are available.
APD’s Level 2 supported employment and Level 4 prevocational services are separate source categories. The directory preserves that difference. Prevocational support is not a job offer or a guarantee of later employment.
- What support is offered before and after starting work?
- Who provides job coaching, and how is support agreed with the worker?
- How will transport, communication and workplace access be discussed?
Ask the relevant program about access
APD service access depends on the person’s program and authorization. Florida Vocational Rehabilitation is a separate route for employment-related services. Use VR’s program information and vendor search to discuss eligibility, referral and the service appropriate to your goals.
A provider appearing in a dated source does not establish that it is accepting referrals, currently enrolled or authorized for your plan. Ask who coordinates services when more than one program is involved.
Agree practical expectations
Ask about the provider’s role in employer contact, support at work, follow-up and changes in circumstances. Discuss any benefit questions with a qualified benefits counselor or the appropriate program. Browsing this directory does not assess work capacity or benefits.
