Who this may help: Adults and families seeking an assessment route or planning support after memory concerns.

An assessment is a different starting point
A Florida Memory Disorder Clinic is an assessment and diagnostic resource. It is not the same as a residential memory-care unit, a support group or an available long-term-care place. Discuss new concerns with an appropriate health professional and ask the clinic about its referral process.
The linked state clinic map is dated 2025. Check the clinic’s current contact and appointment requirements before traveling; the date checked on this guide does not change the map’s source date.

- What does the assessment include, and how are results and follow-up discussed?
- What are the charges and insurance arrangements?
Plan support around daily life
Ongoing dementia support may involve help at home, caregiver training, day services or residential care. A memory-support label does not establish clinical assessment capability, staffing, secure access or acceptance of particular needs.
Ask the ADRC about local Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative support and the options appropriate to the person’s circumstances. Funding and access must be confirmed separately.
Keep the person involved
Discuss preferences, communication and everyday routines with the person seeking support. Use a provider conversation to clarify the actual service and evidence rather than assuming a diagnosis determines one care setting.
