Who this may help: Adults arranging respiratory support with their qualified care team, including after a hospital stay.

Therapy and equipment have different roles
Respiratory therapy is a clinical service. Supplying oxygen, CPAP or another respiratory device is an equipment service. A supplier employing a respiratory professional does not, by itself, establish a therapy offering.
The directory’s therapy matches come from explicit APD or CMS respiratory-service reports. Equipment matches come from separately named supply categories. Neither confirms current acceptance or suitability for an individual.
- Which qualified professional provides the therapy and how is their credential checked?
- Is a referral, prescription, assessment or plan authorization needed?
- Where is the service delivered and who coordinates it with my care team?
Confirm the delivery arrangement
CMS sources may report staff, contract and arrangement channels separately. A positive channel supports a reported service; a negative answer about another channel does not cancel it. Provider pages retain that delivery context.
For APD records, confirm program access, authorization, adult scope and the exact service address. Listed county coverage is a dated report, not an appointment offer.
Plan equipment continuity
Ask the equipment supplier and care team about training, maintenance, power needs, replacement and support outside normal hours. Do not infer a guaranteed response or backup supply from the directory. Use official county emergency planning as a separate step.
